Kat has been working in the documentary film and television industry for over 16 years. Patterson was a senior producer at New York Times Television (Maternity Ward/TLC); a producer and cameraperson on several ABC News series (NYPD 24/7, Boston 24/7,Hopkins 24/7); and a producer at Granada USA (The 1st 48). She was a field producer and cameraperson for National Geographic (Worlds Apart, Taboo and Crisis Zone); NBC News (Ship at War); and she was nominated for 2 Emmy Awards for Best Documentary Cinematography on Love Crimes of Kabul (HBO) and 12th and Delaware (H1BO). She received a New York Emmy Award for Outstanding Documentary Camera in 1998 for her work on WNET’s City Life. In 2002, she was honored with an Alfred I. Dupont Award for her work as producer and cameraperson on the series Hopkins 24/7.
